Trarego Viggiona, Rustic with garden at Sale
Trarego Viggiona - Alpe Leman. Ancient romantic alpine hut.
Just above Trarego, on the road leading to Piancavallo, there is the Laman alpine pasture: an ancient nucleus of stone huts surrounded by a meadow, surrounded by greenery and silence.
At the edge of the mountain pasture, we find this pretty chalet, completely made of stone and wood, which preserves all the characteristics of the ancient mountain dwellings.
The hut, of about 45 square meters, is on two levels. The double stone staircase leads to the mezzanine floor: a single and characteristic room of about 20 square meters with fireplace and wood stove, where you can stay and cook. Splendid the old wooden beams of the recently renovated exposed ceiling. A retractable staircase leads up to the loft where we have the sleeping area with two beds. On the floor below, with separate entrance, there is a bathroom with shower and a storage room where we find the liquid gas boiler and also a wood boiler for hot water. The electricity is guaranteed by the photovoltaic system, but there is already the predisposition to connect to the electricity grid. The water comes from the municipal aqueduct. The heating is guaranteed by the fireplace and the wood-burning stove, as tradition dictates.
This little gem has recently been well renovated: the roof is new, as are the wooden windows. Outside there is a beautiful terrace in piode, from which you can admire the valley below and also a glimpse of the lake. The lawn, which is in common with the whole mountain pasture, has a wonderful view of the lake.
A few meters away there are some public parking spaces.
This romantic hut is ideal for those who wish to regain contact with nature and tranquillity.
Trarego Viggiona is a small mountain municipality, with about 450 inhabitants, located in a privileged and sunny position on Lake Maggiore, at an altitude of 700-800 meters above sea level, about 6 kilometers up from Cannero. It is characterized by the narrow alleys between the stone houses and the beautiful lake view.
It consists of three small towns: Trarego, Cheglio and Viggiona. The road that reaches it continues to Passo di Colle, over 1200 meters, and then descend south towards Verbania.
Numerous festivals enliven the life of Trarego Viggiona, many of which are linked to local food and wine and folklore. The event "I sentieri dell'arte" (The paths of art), which takes place every year at Easter, is well known and sees Trarego turn into a huge open-air atelier of another level.
In Trarego there are bars and restaurants, the school, the post office and the town hall.
